Mendip Rail

(This was originally formed in 1993 by the "rail operation divisions" of Foster Yeoman and Hanson ARC being pooled to form a streamlined joint operation as Mendip Rail. The Amalgamated Roadstone Corporation - ARC by this time being part of Hanson plc as Hanson ARC having been acquired in 1989. Meanwhile Foster Yeoman was acquired by the Holcim Group in 2006 and became part of their Aggregate Industries group. Finally in 2007 Hanson plc was acquired by Heidelberg Cement. As a result Mendip Rail is a joint operation between Aggregate Industries and Hanson plc).
